I love talking about personal development because it’s helped me so much in my own life. With dozens of personal development and self-help books, I’ve been able to launch myself into a million-dollar business that allowed me to pursue a luxury lifestyle with my family. Since I have a strong passion for personal development, I travel the world to spread my ideals with others so they, too, can be as successful as I am.

However, I can’t take credit for all of my successes, because I do have a quite a few personal development speakers and authors I look up to. In a previous blog, I talked about three influencers that have had a tremendous impact on my life — and this blog will highlight an additional three people that are near and dear to my heart.

Bob Proctor

Speaker, coach, and author Bob Proctor is known for his self-help books “You Were Born Rich,” “The Art of Living,” and “The ABCs of Success.” Although he’s getting up there in age, he’s still active in the personal development realm by speaking to people and businesses around the world — setting the foundations of success upon many people he speaks to.

Bob Proctor is also the name and face of the Proctor Gallagher Institute along with colleague and successful attorney Sandy Gallagher. The organization helps to improve the lives of others through coaching programs, conferences and self-help videos.

My favorite quote: “Set a goal to achieve something that is so big, so exhilarating that it excites you and scares you at the same time.”

Louise Hay

Louise is a motivational author who’s written several new thought self-help books, which is a new thinking of philosophy that believes a higher spiritual authority is present everywhere. Because Hay is known for this type of writing, her quotes are very memorable and are well-known in the philosophy and self-help community.

My favorite quote: “Every thought we think is creating our future.”

Oprah Winfrey

The famous Oprah Winfrey has to be my absolute favorite personal development influencer. Her life is a true rags-to-riches story, in which she was born into poverty to a teenage single mother. Suffering through a rough childhood, Oprah was sent to live with her father, and landed a job in radio while she was still in high school. Her career started to take off when she was recognized for her emotional delivery on nighttime and daytime talk shows, then eventually launched her own production company.

With an endorsement from former United States President Barack Obama, honorary doctorate degrees from acclaimed U.S. universities like Duke and Harvard, the highest-rated television talk-show program in history, and net worth of about $3 billion, Oprah Winfrey is truly a woman to admire.

My favorite quote: “Be thankful for what you have; you’ll end up having more. If you concentrate on what you don’t have, you will never, ever have enough.”
